We are members of Alcoholics Anonymous, rendering service to communities in central Massachusetts, including Auburn, Barre, Berlin, Boylston, Brookfield, Charlton, Douglas, Dudley, East Brookfield, Grafton, Holden, Hudson, Leicester, Millbury, North Brookfield, Northborough, Northbridge, Oxford, Paxton, Rochdale, Rutland, Shrewsbury, Southbridge, Spencer, Sturbridge, Upton, Uxbridge, Warren, Webster, West Boylston, West Brookfield, Westborough, Whitinsville and Worcester. Collectively, this region is referred to as District 25 in Area 30, Eastern Massachusetts.

What is a “district”?

A District is a geographical division within an Area that provides an opportunity for the groups in that vicinity to have a voice in matters affecting all groups and A.A. as a whole. Each District has a District Committee that is made up of representatives from its many AA groups. These representatives are called General Service Representatives or G.S.R.s. Each group may elect a G.S.R. who will attend the District meetings and Area assemblies in order to represent their group and vote their group’s conscience. The District Committee elects a representative — a District Committee Member, or D.C.M., who is an experienced G.S.R., to serve as an essential link between the group G.S.R. and the Area Delegate. As a member of the area committee, the D.C.M. is able to pass on the District’s thinking to the delegate and the committee.

Why does this site exist?

This site is designed to support A.A. members involved in service who have a home group in District 25 of Area 30. It is also designed to support individuals interested in learning more or contacting those involved in service.

If you need to talk with someone about your drinking or that of a loved one, you can call the 24 hour HALT line in Worcester, MA at (508) 752–9000, or Boston Central Service at (617) 426-9444, Mon-Fri 9am - 9pm and Sat/Sun/Holidays 12pm - 9pm.

If you came here looking for an A.A. meeting, there are great resources available for you (like Boston Central Service, Worcester Area Intergroup, and the Online Intergroup of Alcoholics Anonymous).

If you are looking for specific services in the Worcester area (court mandate, being released from incarceration, etc.), you may want to reach out to the appropriate contact.

If you’re looking to purchase literature or other A.A. materials, the Worcester Area Intergroup can help with that, as well.

Our Twelfth Step — carrying the message — is the basic service that the A.A. Fellowship gives; this is our principal aim and the main reason for our existence. Therefore, A.A. is more than a set of principles; it is a society of alcoholics in action. We must carry the message, else we ourselves can wither and those who haven’t been given the truth may die.
